Happy Birthday Porter, Po, Little Man, Pdiddy, or PT

Another year has come and went and now my little man is turning three tomorrow. I was looking through his baby pictures tonight and it brought a little tear to my eye. They really, really do grow up so fast, it made me kind of sad!

About my Three Year Old Porter:

*Weight: 23 pounds yep he is huge

* Height 331/2 inches

* Porter loves Cowboys in fact the other day during time-out he informed me that and I quote, "Cowboys don't go into time out." He loves to wear his cowboy boots with everything even shorts, and his cowboy hat.

* Porter has a deep obsession with throwing rocks or really anything

* He loves Toy Story he would watch it 50 times a day if I let him

* He loves anything super-hero, yep this one is 100% all boy

* He was potty trained this year

* Has a huge vocabulary --he frequently tells me to not get frustrated or to relax

*Has his mothers love for Root Beer

*Loves being on the mountain and riding around in his Grandpa's big truck

* Loves working in the yard with his dad and his Grandpa Lloyd

* Went through a lot of new changes this year he became a big brother, moved to a different state, and a different house, went from diapers to big boy underwear, and from a crib to a big bed

We love our little Porter so much. He has endless and I mean ENDLESS energy. He keeps us busy and laughing we are so glad he is ours!!! Happy Birthday little man we love, love, love you!!!!

Camping at Twin Ponds

We went on a weekend camping trip with the Lloyd's in June up to Twin Ponds. We had a great time hanging out with our family, eating lots of good food, and laughing late into the night around the camp fire.

Summer & Swimming

In June Porter and I joined Paislee and Amanda in taking a mommy and me swimming class. It was three days a week for two weeks. I thought Porter would be scared and not do much, because up to this point he has not been the biggest fan of water. He surprised me though and did such a great job and loved every minute of it. I was glad that I got to spend some one on one time with just Porter and I think he like that time to. He learned to jump in the pool, swimming movements,how to blow bubbles, and go down the slide. Thanks Amanda and Paislee for letting us tag along!

Also we took a trip to the Manti Pool and had a great time. Porter was excited to see his cousin Bryant who works as a life guard there. He was so nice to give Porter a life jacket and take him down the big slide!

Sunday Thought

For those of you who don't know we are currently living in my Grandma Lloyd's house. It is an honor for me to be able to live in this woman's house. She is a great lady who did lots of wonderful things in her life and who has an incredible belief and faith in the church. As I was going through her house when we moved I came across Ensign Conference Editions dating back to 1993. Wow, that is a lot of conference talks for those of you who don't know! I decided to make my way through these conference talks and study from them. I started with one from 2009 and came across a talk given by Elder Henry B. Eyring entitled As A Child. It was an amazing talk that helped me to understand just exactly what that means, to have a Child's Heart. For my Sunday Thought I want to share my favorite quote from this talk. FYI it was hard to choose because this talk was chalk full with things that make you think.

" I can see myself standing in that day of judgment before the glorified and resurrected Savior. I want with all my heart not to shrink before him, but rather to look up at Him and see Him smile and say "Well done thy good and faithful servant. Enter."

Three months

I know that she is actually three months and some change but close enough!

* She smiles so big

* She is the spit up queen

*She sleeps through the night and takes two really good naps during the day

* Tries so hard to talk to you

* Is starting to grasp toys and her dads nose in the morning

Fourth of July

This year was the first year we have done the Aurora City Fourth of July festivities as a family. We had a fun day playing games, swimming in the pool, hanging out with family, and watching fireworks. Porter participated in the Fourth of July races and won first place in his age division! It was a great day and I am glad I got to share one of my childhood traditions with my children.
