The things we pass down.....

Before I had a kid I always wondered what traits they would get from me. Would they be a nervous Nellie, would they be bad at math, would they love to dance, or have my good ole' belly laugh? Well, I discovered this weekend what it is that I passed down, Porter inherited my major love for a good foot rub. My whole life I have absolutely loved someone to rub my feet. That person was usually my dad, THANKS DAD! Well, I gave Porter one the other night, before bed and he is now addicted. Tonight, after his bath he went and got the lotion, handed it to me, and put his tiny little feet up on my lap. It made me laugh out loud, he is the cutest little fart!

Our Path of Duty By: Keith B. McMullin

" All that we have comes from God....In and of ourselves we are but a lifeless lump of clay. Life, intelligence, wisdom, judgement, power to reason, all are gifts of God to the children of men. He gives uus our physical strength as well as our mental powers....We should honor God with our intelligence, with our strength, with our understanding, with our wisdom, and with all the power that we possess. We should seek to do good in the world. This is our duty."- President Joseph F. Smith

Kevin + Trisha + Five Years = Craziness, Adventure, and One Really Cute Kid!

Five Years Ago Tomorrow May 20, 2005 We were busy doing this.....

Man that must mean I am getting really old, or maybe I just married young! I'll go with the later of the two. We have had our share of adventures, I've had my share of covered wagons, well lets be honest you've had your share too! We've had lots of laughs, clocked at least a thousand hours watching reality TV together! We've moved six times, celebrated two college graduations, owned our first home, gotten through two years of Law School, and had one unbelievable cute kid! It's been a great ride, thanks for taking it with me, I love you!

"Marriage in its truest sense, is a partnership of equals, with neither exercising dominion over the other, but, rather, with each encouraging and assisting the other in whatever responsibilities and aspirations he or she might have."

Sunday Thoughts......

We all search for happiness, and we all try to find our own " happily ever after." The truth is, God knows how to get there! And, he has created a mapfor you; He knows the way. He is your beloved Heavenly Father, who seeks your good, your happiness. he desires with all the love of a perfect and pure Father that you reach your supernal destination. The map is available to all. It gives explicit directions of what to do and where to go to everyone who is striving to come unto Christ and "stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things, and in all places." All you have to do is trust your Heavenly Father. Trust Him enough to follow his plan!"

My Greatest Journey.......

So, I know I already did a mother's day post dedicated to the two women who have taught me how to be a Mother. However, I wanted to write a post about what Motherhood means to me!

I am so grateful for this little bundle of happiness and personality! Sure, I have days were I wonder if he came from another planet, but even those days bring me joy or at least a laugh or two. Motherhood has taught me more than I could ever imagine about patients and unconditional love. I strongly believe it is our glimpse of how much pure love our Heavenly Father has for us. I am so grateful my Heavenly Father trusted me enough that he gave me this little spirit to guide through life's journey. I only hope I can teach him how to be a good person, and show him what wonderful gifts our Heavenly Father has in place for those who choice to follow him. Porter is my greatest accomplishment and I love him more than he will ever know.

"Motherhood is the one thing in all the world which most truly exemplifies the God-given virtues of creating and sacrificing. The mother who, in compliance with eternal law, brings into the world an immortal spirit occupies first rank in the realm of creation."

Two Fablous People

" As mothers in Israel, we are the Lord's secret weapons. Our influence comes from a divine endowment that has been in place from the very beginning. In the premortal world, when our Father described our role, I wonder if we didn't stand in wide-eyed wonder that He would bless us with a scared trust so central to His plan and that He would endow us with gifts so vital to the loving and leading of His children. I wonder if we shouted for joy at least in part because of the ennobling stature He gave us in his Kingdom. The world won't tell you that, but the spirit will!"
- Sheri Dew, No One Can Take Your Place

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THE THESE TWO GREAT WOMEN!!! We love you both so much and are so grateful for all your love, and lessons!!!

We love you so much!!!!

P.S. More posts below

Calling Farmer Joe

CALLING FARMER JOE

Porter loves everything his dad does, says, or wears! One day he disappeared into the spear room/Kevin's Man Cave and came out with his dad's hat! It was a little big for his tiny head, but man did he look precious!

Also, a new development Porter is an excellent HELPER! Whenever we are cleaning he always comes over and says, " Help, Help!" He loves helping with dishes, vacuuming, changing the laundry, and taking out the trash!

Today, we got out the water colors and Porter went to town! He loves to color and paint, mostly just because it is messy and fun!

And last but not least Porter made this cute card and flower pot for Mother's Day at school! I absolutely love it, it is the best present ever!

Also, my sweet Dad Daniels sent me these beautiful flowers for Mother's Day, THANK YOU so much, I love them!

Amen or Heman????

So, this is a goulash of a post, it's a little of this and a little of that! First, as we all no NEWS FLASH, kids grow and as they grow they get funnier and funnier! Porter is hilarious these days and aw some. In fact I am writing this entry from my nearly two year olds bedroom floor. He has gotten on this kick were he won't fall asleep unless I am in the room. Its hard to be a serious, stern mom when he is peeking through the holes in his crib and giggling at me. What a kid I have!!!! Lately, his vocabulary has really taken off, he has gotten to the point where he can say a prayer kind of!!! Anyway, at the end of every pray we say Amen, he says HE MAN, I know the kid has an obsession, but really!
And, last on my list I am sure you have all read at one point or another the NIE NIE dialogues, if you haven't you should. She is really inspiring to me and is a great example of how a mother should be. My husband makes fun of me because I follow her blog and I don't even know her, but that's OK! Here is a video of her story, if you haven't heard it you should!

A Sunday thought......

"...None of us came to this earth to gain our WORTH; we brought it with us."

" There is not a man or women in this Church who doesn't have a specific mission to perform in helping build up the kingdom of God. And the more we come to really believe that, the more immune we become to the world's distractions."
