To Much Horse'in Around

Yesterday night we put Porter in his new favorite toy, a horse jumper he got from Santa Claus. He loves this toy and will set in it and play and not make a peep! Kevin and I were setting on the coach watching T.V. and we notice Porter was being very quiet. We looked over and he was bouncing himself to sleep. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. He would nod off and then the horse music would play and he would just start bouncing right along. This scene played over and over again, until the poor kid finally crashed! We being the mean parents we are just set there and laughed at him. P.S. I took a video of it put I can't figure out how to save it to my computer so I will try to post it later.

Porter taken a snooze with his horse!

GOALS

So the other day I was going through some of my old things, and I came across some of my old journals from high school and my Snow College days. It is always fun to read those journals and remember what use to be important to you, and to see how much you have changed and how far you have come. I came across one page that made me think, it was a page where I wrote about three goals I wanted to accomplish before I was 25. The three goals were not anything crazy, just simple life goals. They were as follows:
1. Graduate from College with my Bachelors degree
2. Get married in the temple
3. Start a family
Normal goals that most of us have. I am glad to say at 24 I have accomplished all three!! It is crazy to me that I am past that point in my life, I have been there done that. These are things you think about your whole life. When you are in the moment you try your hardest to take everything in and remember it all. When it is past you can look back with a huge sense of accomplishment and pride! I didn't blog about this to toot my own horn, but to show how important goals are and what good things they can bring you. You should always strive for things that will make your life better and work hard for them. I think I will have to make three more for the coming years!

Cracking me Up!

So Porter is getting to be so funny, his little personality is really starting to show. I love this stage he is in, he is just trying to figure everything out. He is making a lot of new discoveries and it is so funny to watch him. The other day I had him laying on the floor while I was doing some house work. I walked into the living room to check on him and he was laying there moving his fingers in front of his face, and laughing so loud. He has discovered that his fingers are attached to him and that he can make them move. He thinks this is the coolest, funniest thing ever. He is growing so fast it scares me.

California

For Christmas the Daniels decided it would be fun to take a family vaction to California. We had this planned well before the babies where born, and we were so excitied to take Porter to Disneyland. We left for sunny California on a very Snow Christmas day. We boarded our plane right when the blizzard hit. I was super nervous to take Porter on a plane and even more nervous to take off in a blizzard! Once we were on the plane, they took us right back off because the airport had shut down. Then a half-hour later they put us right back on and there we stayed on a small, stuffy plane for four more hours. Porter did really good until the last hour, he was screaming, but what do you do! Finally at midnight our plane took off and we landed at 3:00 in the morning, it was a crazy start to our crazy vaction. We started off our California vaction with three days in Disneyland. This was my favorite part, Disneyland was so fun and Porter did so good. Even though he was asleep every time a character was around. So we just took the pictures with him asleep. During our vaction we also went to Unversial Studios, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and a trip accross the border. We had such a great time and we are so glad were were able to take Porter! He got a little tired towards the end but was such a trooper. We can't wait to go back!!! P.S. here are some ok alot of my favorite pics from the trip!

P.S.S. So I can never figure out how to get the captions to look right under the pictures, so I will just tell you about a few here. I love the picture of Porter, Hannah, and Sponge Bob at Universal Studios, he was screaming- he hated Sponge Bob! Also there is a pictue of Kev holding him up to an animal at Sea World. It was so funny We put him up to the window to see the Walrus and it came right up and put it's nose up to the glass- Porter went crazy. However my favorite pics are the ones of Porter in his zoo hat, that kid is the coolest!

2008

2008 was a crazy and wonderful year! It was a very busy and adventures one, but most of my memories from 2008 are great ones! I started off the year three months pregnant and very, very sick. In the middle of all my throwing up I found myself emerged in the final semester at Weber State. Sometimes I look back on my student teaching and wonder how I got through it being sick all the time. But, I did it, more importantly I loved it and I graduated in May of 08 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

Two months after graduating the best part of our year finally happened, our little Porter was born on July 22, 2008. Ever since that day he has brought so much happiness and laughter to our lives. We love that little man so much!!!

Kevin continued working at the Governor's office for most of 2008. There he was able to listen to President Bush speak at a fundraiser for Sentor McCain. Shortly, before Porter was born he pick the University of Wyoming in Laramie to attend lawschool.

Just three weeks after Porter was born we moved from our first home in Layton to Laramie, Wyoming. The first semester of Kevin's schooling is over and he did a really great job! So far we can't complain to much about Laramie, we have enjoyed it so far. However, they really don't exaggerate those Wyoming Winters.

I decided to take this year off from working and be a stay at home mommy! I have really enjoyed my time with my little man. Each day I learn something new about myself and watch him discover life. I will really miss being with him everyday next year.

This year we were able to go to our first NFL game and we had such a good time. Watching the Raiders trash the Broncos made my whole year! We were also able to make a trip with the Daniels family to Disneyland for Christmas. We had such a good time, Disneyland is a lot of fun with a little one.

We also watched Porter celebrate three of his " First" holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

We had a great 2008!! Hope all of you did t00!!

Christmas 2008

Porter's first Christmas came and went and it was a successful one! We survived the white out and crazy snow storms from Wyoming to Utah and made it here safely. We spent a few of the days before Christmas hanging out with my family, so before the actually Christmas Porter had already been spoiled rotten. I was so excitied for Christmas morning, to watch Porter open his presents. Porter however was way more excitied about all the colorful wrapping paper and would get mad when I would tear it and take it away. Santa came through this year and spoiled us all.
