A little here and a little there

This week was nothing out of the ordinary! Just another week full of work, school, and my personal favorite being a mommy. Here is some of the weeks events in pictures, cuz lets be honest we all like looking at pictures the most!

Porter had a good week at school! He got to play Hooke with Dad this week for three days, because the poor little guy had a really bad cold. One of the days he was at school they let the kids play with cool whip. Porter went crazy for it and his teachers were kind enough to send me some pictures of it!








Today we went to a BBQ with some of Kevin's friends from law school. It was for the J. Rueben Clark Legal Society, which basically means all the law students that are Mo Mo's! It was really good food, fun in the park, and good company! Also most of you know that Porter never crawled, instead he choose the weird scoot thing! The kid can really get around that way, but it looks really funny. Well recently he started crawling out of no where. So now he does the half scoot half crawl thing, even weirder. So there is a picture of that too.

Last weekend, Kevin played in a softball tournament. So Porter and I went to show our support to the big man! Here are some pictures of Porter watching his idol.



















Also, today my little sister Chelsee went through the temple for the first time! I just wanted to let her know how proud I am of her, and I really wished I could have been there. She is getting married in two weeks, and I am excited for her and to go home and see my family! Its been awhile!!!














On another note, did you guys watch the Office this week, HILARIOUS!!! Man I really love that show!

Kids............

When I was going to school, out of all my friends I was the lone ranger who wanted to teach the older grades. I never thought I had the patients for younger students, I am talking under third grade. I did my student teaching in the fourth grade and loved it! After that I was convinced that older was better. Then life happened and my plans changed. I ended up teaching as young as you can get for a Elementary Education major, preschool! Boy, it has been an experience but a very good one. These little kids keep me so entertained, I always have great stories to tell Kevin at the end of the day! Here are just a few of my favorites;
1. Student- " Teacher I get to go to the doctor tomorrow."
Me- " Why?"
Student-" To get my testicles looked at!"
Other Girl Student- " What are testicles, do I have them."

2. Student- " Teacher look I have my apple-bottom jeans on today!"
Me- " That's awesome, I really like them."
Student- Precedes to sing the song " Apple- Bottom Jeans" complete with a dance

3. Student bites another student on the playground. I ask him why he felt he needed to bit her. He looks me dead in the eye and tells me he didn't she has always had those marks on her arm.

4. Student- is getting very mad because another student won't get out of his way. He ask politely the first time, and then tells her to and I quote, " Move your fat ass!"

5. One morning I was asking the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. My favorite answers included a Ice Princess, and a babysitter!

6. One morning we were playing on the playground and I notice one of my younger students doing what I like to call, the pee-dance. I asked if she needed to go in and use the bathroom. Her reply was, " Oh Mrs. Trisha I think I already peed in my pants!"

This job may not have been exactly what I was looking for. But, so far it has been a really good experience! I have had the opportunity to teach many different students, from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I have students from India, Saudi Aruba, Korea, and Turkey. They have stretched my teaching skills and taught me so much! I have learned that I really love ESL students, and would like to further my education in that area!

Porter and I went home for Chelsee's Bridal Shower last weekend! It was really fun, we really enjoyed our visit! Porter was so worn out by the end of it, that he fell asleep while eating his rice crispy treat!





Sometimes Porter's teachers will send me pictures of him throughout his day! This is one of my sweet little man sleeping! Doesn't he look precious!

Tough Guy

Boys can be really dumb! Kevin found this video on UTube tonight, and it gave me a really good laugh! These idoits think they are so tough.

I am a big kid now!!!

So, as most of you know I went back to work and Porter started daycare about two weeks ago! Porter is a social little fellow, so I wasn't that surprised at how well he has adjusted. He screams when I first hand him over but after about five minutes he is just fine! He has a really great morning teacher, who loves him to death. She is always doing fun activities with them,and Porter just loves her! Plus, she is really great about coming and getting me when he is doing something new, so I don't miss anything.



The other day they did a painting activity! This is the first time Porter has ever painted,and he loved it!! I went in and snapped a picture and watched him for a few minutes.




We got Porter this little man backpack! We just couldn't resist, a mini backpack for a mini man! This is a pic of him getting ready for school.


We sure do love this little guy!

I am BACK!

After a brief blogging hiatus, I am back! Alot has happened since my last post, so lets get right down to it.
1. We survived the plane ride from DC to Utah. Plane rides and Porter do not mix, he had a rough time but we made it through. It was nice to see mountains again, you don't realize how pretty they are until they are no where in sight.
2. We spent a few days in Utah with our families, one day with each. It was quick, but better then nothing. We were so happy to finally see them, laugh with them, and just hang out!
3. We survived the seven hour ride back to Laramie, by the time we got here all three of us were so over traveling!
4. We moved into a new, bigger apartment. We have so much more space, it is really nice! Thanks so much to the Daniels for moving us out of the old and into the new!
5. My job search came to an end, and boy was I glad! I found a full time job at Basic Beginnings Learning Center. I work with preschoolers and get to teach them and goof off!! They give me some great stories to tell Kevin at night, and keep my day fast moving and entertaining. I was so happy to find a job where I could use my skills as an educator, even if it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, it worked out really well!
6. Porter started daycare, lucky for us it is in the same building I work in. We aren't in the same department, but at least if he needs me I can be there quickly! He did really good the first two days, didn't even cry once. The last couple were a little rough, but he did good! His teachers are really great so it makes it a little easier to get use to. It is still hard though,I hate dropping him off!
7. Kevin started his second year of law school! He has a busy schedule, and is always studying, studying, studying!
8. Porter went to his one year check up, his growth and development is right on track. He his getting really mobile, and is speaking up a storm! He only weighted in at sixteen pounds, but the doctors aren't worried! HE IS JUST A LITTLE MAN!
It's been pretty crazy around here, but we are getting into a routine. I am so thankful for everything we have, and for the many blessings that have come our way!

SO LONG...FARWELL

Unfortunately, our time here in D.C. is up. These last three months have gone by so fast, and have been filled with fun times. We have made a lot of memories, meant a lot of weird people, a lot of nice people, and have seen a lot of great things! Like I have said a million times before we have really loved our time here. We wanted to do some fun things for our last weekend in the city. So, last night we walked up to the Washington Monument and went a 550 feet up to the very top. It was so cool, to see the city from that view, all lite up! If you ever get the chance to come to D.C. you should definitely do this at night.













On the way home we had to stop at my favorite little place the Red Velvet Cupcakery. They have the best red Velvet cupcakes, they are Divine!








Porter loves them too!!!








Tonight, we had a great dinner at Martins Tavern. Every United States President has eaten there since Truman. It is also where President John F. Kennedy proposed to Jacquelin Kennedy. He did it in booth three and that is the booth where we ate dinner. Yea, the marriage turned out to be a big crapper but it was still cool! After we ate we just enjoyed Georgetown and then took one final walk down to the mall.

GOODBYE D.C. WE WILL MISS YOU AND LOVED OUR TIME HERE!!!!

Ford's Threatre

This week we have been trying to see a couple of sites we havn't gone to. Ford's Threatre is a must do, not only did the completly re-do it, but its cool and its were we got engaged! Yea, I know its kind of a weird, slightly morbed place to ask someone to marry you, but it worked for us. We are both big old history nerds, and we are really big fans of Abraham Lincoln. So it meant something to us and plus it is a really pretty threatre. We went there yesterday with Porter and walked through part of the musuem, around the threatre and went up on the Balcanoy where Pres. Lincoln got shot and where we got engaged!

Then we got Porter this stuffed Enisten Doll, he absolutely adores it! He is always talking to him and giving him hugs!
