Food for the Soul......

Growth Required To Return Home....

" One's life...cannot be both faith-filled and stress-free... Therefore, how can you and I really expect to glide naively through life, as if to say, 'Lord, give me experience, but not grief, not sorrow, not pain, not opposition, not betrayal, and certainly not to be forsaken. Keep from me, Lord, all those experiences which made Thee what Thou art! Then let me come and dwell with Thee and fully share Thy joy!'...

" Real faith..is required to endure this necessary but painful developmental process."
- Elder Neal A. Maxwell

" There are ripple marks on the highest rock, and there are sea fossils and other evidence of what's on top having once been at the bottom.. If you want to understand the summit, you must understand the depths, because that's where the summit began."- Adam C. Olson Church Magazines

Have a wonderful Sunday, peace out!

All about my little person

So I wanted to do a post all about my little man and his favorite things! He is in such a fun stage of life. He is discovering so many new things and has such a big personality. I really love being his mom, he makes our world go round.

1. His blue blanket- You know the little boy on Charlie Brown that carries his blanket with him everywhere, that's Porter. He got this fuzzy blue blanket from Kevin's Aunt Kathy. He carries it everywhere and when he gets tired it is like his pacifier He puts the fuzzy part up to his face and rubs his nose with it. We don't go anywhere with out this thing.

2. Cheetos/Chicken Nuggets:

So we all know that Porter is not a chunky monkey and is not the best of all eaters. But, when I can't get him to eat anything, I can always count on Cheetos or Chicken Nuggets. He love, love, loves them!

3. He loves books:

He loves for you to read books to him. He gets so excited and so into the book. His all time favorite is, " Who says Woof?" I read it at least a thousand times every weekend.

4. Harry the Bunny:

We found this educational children's channel called Baby First TV. They have a lot of cool programs, Porters favorite is Harry the Bunny! He always makes sure he says hi and bye to Harry.

6. Football and Wrestling:

Porter is such a boy he loves to rough house and throw everything. He watches the UFC with his daddy and will cheer and clap for all the guys! He loves to throw the football and anything else he can get his tiny little hands on.

7. Morning and Nigh time:

Porter is funny he only wants his mommy in the morning and his daddy at night. I love his hugs and kisses in the morning. And, he loves to rough house and play with dad at night. We both love our time with him.

The Harley Wearin' Skinny Fat Man!

At Christmas time my brother Bryan's fiance Stephanie gave Porter this sweet Harley motorcycle vest. It was her little boy Masons and she wanted to hand it down to Porter. We were really excited for him to wear it and it didn't disappoint. He looked like a complete stud!

Thank you so much Stephanie for this vest, we love it!!!!

Now for the skinny fat man part. That is our goal as parents this year to make our skinny man a FAT MAN! We want to thank all of our family and friends who have kept Porter in their prayers this week. We were so grateful to found out that the lump they found in his stomach was nothing serious! However, we still need to figure out why our little mans growth has leveled off. Sixteen pounds is just not big enough! Please keep our little man in your prayers that we will be able to find out what the problem is and that we will be able to get this boy growing! Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers they mean so much!

Sure hope I don't croak.....

So, for awhile now I have been wanting to try a spinning class. Call me crazy, so I decided now was as good a time as any. So tomorrow a friend and me are going to give it a go. I sure hope I don't croak, I really could. Wish me luck!!!!

One a different note I have been reading a series that I absolutely love! The first book is called Hunger Games, the second is called Catch Games, and the third comes out in March. So if you are looking for a good read this will do the job.

Some thoughts.......

First thing is first, it is 6:30 on a Sunday and I am blogging, does anyone see a problem with this picture? I should be sleeping in on my day off instead I am blogging and watching Sesame Street with my little man. Porter has been in a phase(lets all hope it is only that) for the past month were no matter what time he goes to bed he wakes up at 4:30-5:00 and will not go back to sleep! What the crap, this is the kid that use to sleep until 8:00-9:00 every morning. Oh, how I long for those days. I have been reading some articles that say for early risers you have to train them to sleep in using visual cues. So, if any of my blogging peeps have any suggestions on how we can fix our little problem I would love them. The other day at work I feel asleep while the other teacher was playing Duck, Duck, Goose with the kids! I am about to go crazy, so please some assistants to help my sanity would be great! On a side note he is dancing right now to a song by Snuffalofagus, adorable!

-Second, have any of you every watched the show Modern Family? If not jump on the bandwagon cuz it is simply hilarious! It's a new favorite and it gets more then one belly laugh out of me!

- Third, I wanted to share some of the moments and experiences we had in 2009.

* We started off the new year in California, on our first family vacation to Disneyland!

* In February, we lost Grandpa Price we love and miss him.

* We lived three months in our Nations Capitol, it was the best experience. We made so many memories and learned so much out there. It's one of those life experiences you are so grateful for and will never forget.

*We moved back to Laramie, Kev began year two of law school, got published, and thanks to The Daniels moved into a new apartment.
* Porter celebrated his first birthday and hit some major milestones. First, he scooted, then he crawled, and finally he walked! He communicates with us better, knows some sign language, and started daycare.

* Porter starting daycare means I started working again. We had to make some big adjustments to our life, but it has been a good experience.

* 2009 was a interesting year! We had so many great adventures, some not so fun challenges, and were blessed so much.

To go along with the whole new year thing, I read the best article in the January Ensign. It was entitled, " The Best is yet to come." I want to share a piece of it with you.... "Some of you may wonder: Is there any future for me? What does a new year or a new semester, a new major or
a new romance, a new job or a new home hold for me? Will I be safe? Will life be sound? Can I trust in the Lord and in the future? Or would it be better to look back, to go back, to stay in the past? To all such of every generation, I call out, “Remember Lot’s wife.” Faith is for the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there. Faith trusts that God has great things in store for each of us and that Christ truly is the “high priest of good things to come”
(Hebrews 9:11).
Keep your eyes on your dreams, however distant and far away. Live to see the miracles of repentance and forgiveness, of trust and divine love that will transform your life today, tomorrow, and forever. That is a New Year’s resolution I ask you to keep." So that is my only new year's resolution this year, wish me luck!

Pre-Christmas trip to Paradise

From December 17th-24th Kevin and I went with his family to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It was such a fun trip, with the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. I loved every mintue of relaxing at the resort drinking maragartias, and we did a lot of activites that really forced me to step outside my comfort zone. We made a lot of memories, and I am so glad we got to go! One of the trips we did was called Tulum Extreme. It was my favorite part of the trip, with such a variatey of activites. We did three zip lines in the jungle, repeled, snorkeled in fresh water caves call Centos, visited the Mayan ruins, and did some shopping in the town of Tulum.

the caves

Me and our tour guide Helos

Our last day there we did another snorkeling tour. Here we snorkeled for sea turtles and actually saw one! We also dived in an open centos and did a zip line into it.

We also, took the fairy over to the island of Cazmel. There we did a snorkeling in a coral reef, this was the scariest thing for me. For some reason just being out there in the ocean scared the crap out of me. I guess I have seen jaws one to many times.

Paradise Continued

One of the first days we were there the crew went out deep sea fishing! Stacy and I decided we would have more fun going to the spa. So they went fishing, we went and got pedicures and did water aerobics in the ocean.

Post Card material

We also spent endless hours on the beach. It was like what you see in post cards, the water was crystal clear!

Getting ready to eat!
