Master Yoda's Second Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I hope you all had a fun and safe day, isn't Halloween so much fun! I think it is even funnier when you have a little one to dress up. This year we had a lot of fun with our little Master Yoda! He looked so cute and wear his costume all day! Most of our Halloween activities took place on Friday, it was a busy day but lots of fun. First off, it was my birthday and Kevin as always made it a special day! The night before Kevin took me out to eat and to a movie, it was nice to be able to go out just me and him! On my birthday I woke up to him and my little man singing Happy Birthday, it doesn't get any better. For my birthday Kevin got me a kitchen table & some Jillian Micheal's work-out DVDs. Since, I worked all day yesterday, I couldn't answer my phone. But, I want to say THANK YOU to all my family and friends who called, texted, or facebooked me birthday wishes! It means so much, I love you all!
Now on to Halloween with Porter....it was a busy, busy day for us! Porter had a fun class party with all of his daycare friends. They painted pumpkins and participated in a Halloween costume parade around the daycare!

His Yoda custume was a major hit, everyone friends and strangers got a big kick out of it! After, daycare Kevin & I took him to the trunk-or-treat put on by the Law-School. Porter loved picking up the candy out of the bowls, and holding it all in his hands. He didn't want us to put it in the bag, I guess he was afraid we would eat it!

Later that night my work, Porter's daycare, put on a Halloween Carnival. I had to work it, but got to take Porter and Kevin around when they came later on in the night! It is a really fun event, with so many activities for the kids! Porter had fun fishing for toys, going through the haunted house, and winning cookies in the cake walk! Let's just say by the end of the day, we were all ready to caught some zzzz's!!!

Porter loved his Master Yoda cumtome so much, that this moring when he got up he wanted the ears back on! He wore them all morning, and even took a bath with them on!

GIVE ME SOME SUGA.......

Today has been one of those days where I eat way to much SUGAR! One of those days when you say, " OK this is the last piece of candy," then five minutes later your shoving one more mini candy bar in your big mouth!! So I decided, why not add to the sugar rush and make some cookies. I tried to include Porter in the festivities but , he wanted to eat the dough instead!

Tis the season.......

I want to start out by saying I absolutely love Halloween! I dare say that it is my favorite of the holidays! Maybe, its because its a free pass to be really silly, or because it brings the freaks out in large numbers! Whatever, the reason I really, really like it. Tonight, we started to get in the Halloween spirit by carving pumpkins. It wasn't as easy with a 15 month old, traveling all over the place, trying to grab the knives, and stuffing all the seeds you just pulled out back in the pumpkin! It was a little crazy but it was still fun!!

Also, a couple of weeks ago my little sister got hitched! Here are some of the pics I liked from her wedding.

Lots of Love.........

So I have seriously been such a slacker when it comes to blogging! We have had a few fun and exciting events happen in our family as of late!
1. Conference weekend was great! I love being able to be spiritually uplifted while chill in in my p.j.'s!!! To make it even better The Daniels came down to visit us, we had a great time with them! It had been a long time since we had been around family, so it was really nice to have them here! We just watched movies, visited, and of course ate some really good food!

Porter jamming out to Uncle Jeb's music!

A sneak preview of Porter's Halloween outfit! We found this Yoda custom, it cracked us up!

Also, this was my favorite(if you are suppose to have one) conference talk, this session. It was so powerful, if you didn't hear it play this video! Never have I heard a testimony of the Book of Mormon that was so strong!

2. On October 8Th, we flew home for my little sisters wedding! Fifteen minutes into the flight, Porter decided it would be fun to throw up all over mom! I don't just mean a little bit of throw-up I mean a ton. It was so gross and I am sure the people around me love us! The worse part about it is I couldn't get up to go clean it off, I just had to sit there. I guess I earned another strip on my mommy badge! Besides, that minor set back it was a really great weekend! Chelsee and James make a great couple and I was so glad I was there to witness the happy occasion. It was really neat for me, Chelsee and I have always been really close. I got to be right there by her side and help her get ready! It was also great to get to be around all of my brothers and sisters! We don't get all get together a whole lot, so it is special when we do!

Speaking of Weddings, come on Pam & Jim off the Office got married! It was a hillourious eposide! I laughed so hard I almost peed--this show makes me happy!

A little here and a little there

This week was nothing out of the ordinary! Just another week full of work, school, and my personal favorite being a mommy. Here is some of the weeks events in pictures, cuz lets be honest we all like looking at pictures the most!

Porter had a good week at school! He got to play Hooke with Dad this week for three days, because the poor little guy had a really bad cold. One of the days he was at school they let the kids play with cool whip. Porter went crazy for it and his teachers were kind enough to send me some pictures of it!

Today we went to a BBQ with some of Kevin's friends from law school. It was for the J. Rueben Clark Legal Society, which basically means all the law students that are Mo Mo's! It was really good food, fun in the park, and good company! Also most of you know that Porter never crawled, instead he choose the weird scoot thing! The kid can really get around that way, but it looks really funny. Well recently he started crawling out of no where. So now he does the half scoot half crawl thing, even weirder. So there is a picture of that too.

Porter watching all the big boys playing football!!

Last weekend, Kevin played in a softball tournament. So Porter and I went to show our support to the big man! Here are some pictures of Porter watching his idol.

Also, today my little sister Chelsee went through the temple for the first time! I just wanted to let her know how proud I am of her, and I really wished I could have been there. She is getting married in two weeks, and I am excited for her and to go home and see my family! Its been awhile!!!

On another note, did you guys watch the Office this week, HILARIOUS!!! Man I really love that show!

Until next week, peace out!!!!

Kids............

When I was going to school, out of all my friends I was the lone ranger who wanted to teach the older grades. I never thought I had the patients for younger students, I am talking under third grade. I did my student teaching in the fourth grade and loved it! After that I was convinced that older was better. Then life happened and my plans changed. I ended up teaching as young as you can get for a Elementary Education major, preschool! Boy, it has been an experience but a very good one. These little kids keep me so entertained, I always have great stories to tell Kevin at the end of the day! Here are just a few of my favorites;
1. Student- " Teacher I get to go to the doctor tomorrow."
Me- " Why?"
Student-" To get my testicles looked at!"
Other Girl Student- " What are testicles, do I have them."

2. Student- " Teacher look I have my apple-bottom jeans on today!"
Me- " That's awesome, I really like them."
Student- Precedes to sing the song " Apple- Bottom Jeans" complete with a dance

3. Student bites another student on the playground. I ask him why he felt he needed to bit her. He looks me dead in the eye and tells me he didn't she has always had those marks on her arm.

4. Student- is getting very mad because another student won't get out of his way. He ask politely the first time, and then tells her to and I quote, " Move your fat ass!"

5. One morning I was asking the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. My favorite answers included a Ice Princess, and a babysitter!

6. One morning we were playing on the playground and I notice one of my younger students doing what I like to call, the pee-dance. I asked if she needed to go in and use the bathroom. Her reply was, " Oh Mrs. Trisha I think I already peed in my pants!"

This job may not have been exactly what I was looking for. But, so far it has been a really good experience! I have had the opportunity to teach many different students, from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I have students from India, Saudi Aruba, Korea, and Turkey. They have stretched my teaching skills and taught me so much! I have learned that I really love ESL students, and would like to further my education in that area!

Here are a few pictures from the week of Porter that I love!

Porter and I went home for Chelsee's Bridal Shower last weekend! It was really fun, we really enjoyed our visit! Porter was so worn out by the end of it, that he fell asleep while eating his rice crispy treat!

Sometimes Porter's teachers will send me pictures of him throughout his day! This is one of my sweet little man sleeping! Doesn't he look precious!

Tough Guy

Boys can be really dumb! Kevin found this video on UTube tonight, and it gave me a really good laugh! These idoits think they are so tough.
